Kollektiivista kuuntelua

Katselin Travel Channelin dokumenttia seitsemän(!)henkisestä perheestä, joka on vuoden mittaisella maailmanympärysmatkalla. He tekevät samalla dokumenttia teemalla "tapaamme merkittäviä ihmisiä, ja opimme heiltä asioita, jotka jaamme ohjelmassa muillekin".

Tässä jaksossa perhe oli Yhdysvalloissa, Richmondissa. He tapasivat siellä ihmisiä, jotka työskentelevät parantaakseen orjuuden aiheuttamia arpia yhteisössä. Mielenkiintoinen oli heidän kuvauksensa Hope-yhdistyksestä, jossa orjien ja heidän hyödyntäjiensä jälkeläiset kohtasivat keskustelutilaisuuksissa.

Metodi oli melko yksinkertainen; istuttiin ringissä ja juteltiin asioista joita kulloinkin pidettiin tärkeinä tai ajankohtaisina. Keskustelun onnistumisen olennaisin tekijäkin valkeni.

"Välillä tuntuu niin hyvältä olla hiljaa ja kuunnella. Vaikka kukaan ei puhuisikaan." "Aluksi tuntui siltä, että kaikki aika on täytettävä puheella, mutta sitten opimme että hiljaisuus on hyväksi keskustelullemme."

Virtausta ja hallintaa. Luulen, että aina ei pysty ulkoapäin sanomaan, kumpi on niistä on käynnissä. Luulen että tämä on sitä kollektiivista tilannetajua, joka on aidon ymmärtämisen edellytys.
